The future of mindkind lies waiting for those
who will come to understand their lives and take
up their responsability to all living things.

nu project What We're Doing Resilience Short Films Words From The Edge Resources About Us

Follow us on Facebook and twitter for regular updates, articles and resilience-related news and projects.

Here, we’ve put together a few of our favourite resources and links:

The Energy Bulletin
is a great site to visit regularly for the kind of news that doesn’t make it onto Sky or BBC, but is far more relevant to the changing times we live in.

“How Permaculture Can Save
Humanity and the Planet but not Civilization”

is a fantastic presentation by Toby Hemenway, redefining sustainability as regeneration and exploring horticultural societies as the way forward.

Elm Street Economy
To bridge the gap between the small changes with limited impact and more extreme moves (such as going ‘off-grid’ and trying to be totally self-sufficient), we need to design pathways to genuinely Resilient Livelihoods. What is a sustainable livelihood and how can we support ourselves now, as well as during the coming years and decades? Paul and Sarah Edwards of Elm Street Economy are running an online course on Sustainable Post-Peak Livelihoods You can also watch a 30 minute interview with Paul and Sarah Edwards here

The Permablitz
The Permablitz movement started in Melbourne, Australia. It’s a fantastic, low-cost, educational and community-spirited way of turning back gardens into sustainably designed food growing zones!

Sharon Astyk
We highly recommend Sharon Astyk’s book Depletion and Abundance full of practical information, grace and realism to get you preparing for times of unprecedented change. Included in the book are 100 things you can do to get ready for Peak Oil.

Why ‘Resilience Thinking’
is a crucial missing piece of the climate-
change jigsaw and why resilience is a more useful concept than sustainability. A great introductory article by Rob Hopkins.

Overshoot
The Ecological Basis of Evolutionary Change by William R. Catton Jr looks at our dependence on our local and global ecosystems, and why ‘carrying capacity’ is at the core of it all.

Navdanya
is a women-centred movement for the protection of biological and cultural diversity, and includes a network of seed keepers and seed banks, and a learning centre in North India. It was founded by Vandana Shiva, world-renowned scientist and activist.

Peak moment TV
has a collection of short films on a wide range of exciting topics related to sustainable alternatives.
